Your mission, should you choose to accept it…

The wife wants a treadmill.
This was something we considered a couple of years ago, but didn’t have the money or space for at the time. Now she’s serious about getting one and has given me two weeks to find and purchase a good quality treadmill. Not one of the cheapo department store ones either (although some of the higher end NordicTrack models Sears carries would probably do). She wants a solid quality machine like the ones you find in fitness centers. There was one store we ran across across the river in Mt P that specialized in this kind of stuff. Now I just have to remember what the name of the store was and where it was located.

  1. I bought a Sears model several years ago for about $400 and use it 2-3 x a week for a half hour “walk” at about 4 mph.It can be set to go much faster. Also can set the incline higher.
I have it set up downstairs in my shop with a fan blowing on me and I watch DVDs or videos on a 13″ screen in front of me.
I have all the space in the world but it does fold up neatly if you need a smaller “footprint.”
I have NOT tried to jog or run so if that is your intent, I’m not sure if this particular model would fill your needs.
Good luck and stay healthy eh.

  2. If you check out sears they carry a few models made by Hebb. These are definitely the best on the market and will give you the least trouble service wise. Sears used to carry them under the their own brand. Bur many people carry them. Usually they all look very similar as hebb has not changed designes for quite a few years. The nordicktrack are ok but overpriced for what you get.
As I used to sell them I can tell you all the tricks and traps to avoid. email me any questions.
