I want to congratulate you, but am not sure of the proper tense to use.
how do I congratulate you on something that has happened in the future and which you are already aware of, but is still months away from actually happening?
I think I will have to consult Dr Dan Streetmentioner’s Time Traveller’s Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations. Although I could only get as far as the Future Semi-Conditionally Modified Subinverted Plagal Past Subjunctive Intentional before giving up.
