This is a lightweight, wooden slide rule that’s simply branded “Lawrence Engineering Service, Wabash, IND.”. At first, I thought was a custom branded rule made for some company, but a bit of research led me to the ISRM page for Lawerence Engineering and shows quite a few interesting rules for different applications that they made. There’s also a link to a paper by DG Rance about the history of the company.
The model number (8-B) is stamped on the end of the slide. The slide is slightly longer than the body of the rule, possibly to make it easier to manipulate.
The back of the rule has some basic instructions showing how to perform various operations using the rule.
Unfortunately, the one I have didn’t come with a cursor.
Dimensions: 20.4 cm (body)/21.3 cm (slide) x 2.9 cm x 0.9 cm
