Clean bill of health

Got a call from Nala’s vet today with her biopsy results. Looks like they got all of the mast cell tumour and characterized it with a low likelihood of recurrence. I’ll still need to watch out for any other bumps that might form, but she’s looking in pretty good shape. Now all we need to do is wait for her to heal up and get the staples removed, unless she manages to do that herself (she’s already managed to get rid of two staples).

  1. You might want to do a “elizabethian style” collar. They go around the neck and keep the dog from reaching/licking. You can get one at Petsmart. Get the clear one so Nala can see!

  2. the surgery site is along the back of her neck, so an e-collar wouldn’t work very well (she could just push it forward out of the way) and weight of one could aggravate things too. The turtleneck type wrap thing I made seems to be working out ok, but I need to try to make it a little more snug so it doesn’t shift as much.
