A night in Cuba

Well, almost.

Yesterday’s meetup was a little sparsely attended with just Chuck, Vera, Mike and myself, but the four of us had a good time chatting and sharing travel related stories.

Chuck had his camera with him, so we got our server to snap this photo of us and the Cuba poster.

El Bohio bloggers

December meetup: mark your calendars

Don’t forget the December meetup at El Bohio (check the map if you need directions) this Saturday, December 8 at 6:30.

I’ll be there early to make sure we have a big enough space. From the comments so far it looks like around 8-10 people. If you’re planning on coming (or even a maybe) leave a comment.

December blogger meetup

The general concensus seems to be for next weekend without any date preference so I’ll pick Saturday Dec 8, say around 6:30?

Leave a comment if you prefer another time.

December blogger gathering?

So now that everyone is recovering from the turkey-induced food comas, time to see about our next social event. From the comments, El Bohio seems to be an acceptable choice. Chuck proposes this Friday/Saturday (Nov 30/Dec 1) or next Friday/Saturday (Dec 7/8), which should put it nicely before any other conflicting Christmas/holiday events. I’m thinking 6 or 6:30ish or so. Show of hands anyone?

Take a gander at the menu while you’re mulling it over.

Update: Two votes for next week so far. I’ll make it three. I’m leaning toward a Saturday gathering, but Friday is fine for me too. Anybody else?

Map: In case anybody doesn’t know where El Bohio is, here’s a Google map. It’s across the street from Locklear’s on Maybank Highway.

Another turtle release

From the Turtle people at the Aquarium:

“Cape Romain” has been officially cleared for release! As the weather is quickly cooling, we are eager to get this 275-pound adult male loggerhead out to sea. Being released with “Cape Romain” is “Lady Lisa,” a 65-pound juvenile loggerhead that was caught on the SC Department of Natural Resources Marine Resources Division (SCDNR MRD) In-Water research vessel, the Lady Lisa. The release will be held at the pier between 14th Ave. and 10th Ave. on Isle of Palms at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 3rd.
