Holiday meetup at Bowen’s Island Restaurant

The masses (all four of them) have chosen Wednesday for a holiday meetup. I’ll give them a call and make sure they’re not closed for some special event that evening and if they’re not let’s all meet there around 6ish (come earlier if you want to catch the sunset).

Oh, and as I recall, they don’t take credit cards there. Cash only.

Oysters!

Update: Confirmed that Bowen’s Island Restaurant is open tomorrow so see you then! Jared: give us a nice clear forecast for tomorrow evening so I can get some good sunset photos!

In case you’ve never been, here’s a Google Map to the restaurant. It’s pretty easy to get there. Just head down Folly Road towards Folly Beach and hang a right onto Bowen’s Island Road (you should see a large slightly faded billboard). When you think you’ve gone too far and missed it, keep on going a little bit further and you’ll be there.

Luau for the dogs

It was a busy evening for me as I shuttled myself between a couple of events last night.

First up was WHLR‘s Bow Wow Luau fundraiser event.

It was hosted by the folks at Down to Earth, an outdoor garden/living space type place that had a lot of neat stuff: plants, fountains, outdoor furniture, that kind of thing.

There were some nice beachy tunes being played and some great food provided by Square Onion.

There were some great baskets being raffled off and everybody there seemed to be having a good time.

Birthday pair

Heather and Mr. Heather/Tim were nice enough to host a party for themselves and invite a few people, so I made the journey out to Moncks Corner to join them.

Blognic ’07

I thought I’d head on over to Wannamaker park early so the dogs could check out the new dog park there. They definitely had a good time, especially once they discovered the muddy pit passing for a pond. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be there or not, or if it’s supposed to be more full than it was, but the dogs were enjoying it as much as they could. At least there was a hose available to wash them off a bit.

Then it was off to find where we were ‘blognic’ing this year. I found Vera and Patrick, and then we eventually found Heather and everybody else. There were about 12 that showed up, along with a half dozen or so kids. I think we all had a pretty good time hanging out, and it was a great day for it too.

Heather‘s daughter managed to capture everybody’s attention at one point or another

Proof that Heather does have different shirts other than the black Home Ec 101 shirt.
