So long Mischief

Today we said goodbye to Mischief.  She was a sweet little kitty (although Simba might not have thought so).

Mischief would happily sit on the chairs, sofas, tables, generally wherever you wanted to sit, and swat at the dogs if they got too close.  She eventually learned to tolerate Nala’s affectionate licking, but Simba always kept his distance.

When Mischief demanded attention, you’d hear the most pitiful, sad, and dramatic meows coming from her.

Many years ago, Mischief overheard the vet telling Connie that Mischief was perfect.  Ever since then, Mischief always made sure that we knew she was perfect.

Rest easy, Mischief.  Now you can go tell everyone else how perfect you are.

Cat scan

Mischief went in for her annual checkup today and ended up getting an x-ray just to make sure a spot on her leg she’s been bothering and licking hair off wasn’t being caused by anything internal.

Vet said Mischief looks good, although has some arthritis in her knees.

We’re trying her on some NSAIDs to see if it will help with any discomfort or pain she might be having. She’s still jumping up and down from things, but we’ve noticed her walking seems to be a little bit stiffer. Maybe this will help.

As for the spot on her leg she’s been taking the fur off of, maybe she’s not taking too well to the new food we’ve put her on. Something we’ll have to look into.

An unusually cool morning

18°C in the morning wouldn’t be unusual around here in the fall, but on a July morning, it’s very unusual. 28°C is a more typical temperature for a July morning.

I’ll take it.

The dogs were certainly enjoying the “cooler” weather this morning.

Happy New Year from Mah animals!

Happy New Year from Nala, Mischief, and Simba (and Gollum)!
