There aren’t too many things that are more fun than spending a morning watching a bunch of labs frolic around in a pond.

Found this guy on the screen inside the back porch. Not quite sure what it is yet. Hopefully BugGuide.net will help me figure it out.

Anybody out there have any ideas?

Update: Looks like the mystery bug is a young wheel bug (Arilus cristatus). Identification thanks to BugGuide.net

A letter from Clemson‘s Bioengineering department arrived in my email today telling me that I’ve been accepted to the PhD program.

Woohoo!

This is going to be a pretty major undertaking for me but I’m looking forward to it.

Now to figure out how to pay for it.
