I have a new vice

and it is called Cold Stone Creamery. One just opened up on King St and their offerings are sooo good.

They offer ice cream in three sizes, Like It, Love It, and Gotta Have It. The Love It size is the one I usually go for, and is almost more ice cream then I can eat at one sitting.

But the place is very cool (literally). You tell them what you want (or come up with your own ice cream/topping combination), they throw some huge scoops of ice cream on to this ice cold marble slab and mix everything together in front of you. You can get it in a regular styrofoam bowl, or one lined with a waffle cone. Then the trick becomes eating it before it turns into a liquidy mess and drips all over your fingers and pants. Or else wait until it becomes a liquidy mess. I suppose it’s up to you how you want to eat it.

  1. I like ice cream.
Speaking of ice cream, do you happen to still have copies of the Houseboat Chronicles (I noticed your quote a few months ago about dJoe chumming for clowns, and was hoping you might).
Recently whilst cleaning mine room, I came across the print out of Houseboat 5 (I think – the one with the army boat anyhoo), complete with images imbedded.
    It was good.
    And funny.
    I need a drink.

  2. The only copy of the Chronicles I currently have is from HH9. All the other ones are probably still packed up in boxes in the basement of my parents’ house. I wish I did have them though.
If you manage to overcome the energy potential of that inertia well you live in, make a copy of your HH5 chronicles and send it to me.

  3. Joe, whilst packing up his room, in anticipation of his move to houston, has come across 3 of the chronicles. I am hoping that he drops them off here, so I can scan them in!

  4. And speaking of a cold stone creamery, One just opened up a few blocks from my house. In the south edmonton common. I tried it this afternoon. Although I did like the variety of combinations you could get, I was not impressed by the ice cream itself. Just normal ice cream, I wish they had some home made ice cream like the serve at some of the country festivals around the province, they are always super yummy. I think its the farm cream they use which makes it taste so good. Oh well I was hoping for something much much tastier, perhaps I will have to come down and try the one you go to 🙂
